Turning Meeting Notes into Podcasts: Bridging the Gap Between Async and Synchronous Participants

I’ve recently been experimenting with a workflow that transforms meeting notes and transforms them into podcasts. This process has been game-changing, improving how I retain and understand information from meetings. The secret ingredient? AI-generated hosts discuss the topics from differing perspectives, making the content far more engaging and memorable.

This approach initially helped me better understand my personal meeting notes, but it didn’t stop there. With the addition of a Spotify integration, I’ve expanded this method to distribute meeting notes to those who could not attend our neighborhood meeting on short-term rental “Party Houses” on our block.

The process is relatively simple yet incredibly effective. Here’s how it works:

1. Transcribe the Meeting Notes: First, I take meeting transcripts from a platform like Google Meet.
2. Transform the Content: The transcripts are ingested into NotebookLM and converted into a podcast format. This is where the AI magic happens—the content is turned into a conversation, often featuring multiple perspectives that make the information more dynamic and accessible.
3. Distribute the Podcast: The resulting podcast is then uploaded to Substack, which enables distribution to various streaming platforms—including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.

I’ve started with Spotify right now, and I have to say, the proof of concept already shows how a basic use of AI can significantly amplify one’s voice. By turning static notes into engaging audio content, I can ensure that those who couldn’t attend our meetings stay informed about important neighborhood issues, such as addressing the challenges posed by short-term rental “Party Houses.

This project is just the beginning, but it’s an example of how even small experiments with AI can create big waves.
